Electricians

SOME 250 electricians at the Norfolk and Norwich PFI hospital site have been sacked after they struck unofficially. The workers walked out after the contractor, Crown House, cut travel allowances.

Local Labour MP Ian Gibson has supported the strike. But the electricians' AEEU union has repudiated the action. The bosses have made it clear that they intend to recruit a scab workforce to replace the strikers. The strikers need the support of other workers in the area to make sure the bosses don't succeed.
