NATO's bloody war ABOUT 300 people attended a rally in central London on Friday of last week to commemorate the anniversary of the start of NATO's bombing of Serbia and Kosovo. The meeting was called by the Committee for Peace in the Balkans. Among the speakers were left Labour MP Alice Mahon, London Socialist Alliance candidate Mark Steel and campaigner Tariq Ali. Mark Steel won huge applause as he showed how NATO's action has led to precisely the tragic consequences that the anti-war movement predicted last year. Other protests took place in Birmingham, Sheffield, Bristol and Manchester. |
