Workers at Tollcross leisure centre, run by Culture and Sport Glasgow, struck for three days against a pay freeze last week.
Members of the Unison, Unite and GMB unions picketed the leisure centre.
They were targeting a swimming championship that was being held at the centre, as part of the unions’ plan to shut down major events.
But management were able to keep the centre open using scabs, and the swimming went ahead as planned.
Culture and Sport Glasgow has plenty of money – it has just spent £53,000 on a “rebrand” that will see it now known as “Glasgow Life”.
The campaign kicked off with four days of strike action by 1,600 workers.
A return to this kind of hard-hitting united action can force these bosses back.
