Over 3,000 marched in the streets of Bristol on Saturday.

It was organised by Bristol and District Anti-Cuts Alliance. A student spoke about the fees protests, saying, “We can fight back and we will fight back.”

Some 1,000 protesters from across Shropshire gathered in Shrewsbury. Demonstrators from two local schools threatened with closure, joined the protest.

And another 1,000 people marched on the Isle of Wight. The march stopped traffic and picked up shoppers as it went.

Around 700 people marched through Lewisham, south east London, creating a “Carnival Against Cuts”. A series of protests across the area fed into a march through the streets.

Some 500 demonstrated against Rhondda Cynon Taff council cuts on the streets of Pontypridd.

And over 200 marched in Waltham Forest, east London.
