London firefighters have seen some fire engines replaced with minibuses.
Private firm AssetCo, the strike-breakers who own London’s fire engines, has taken many of them off the road for “upgrades”.
But instead of supplying replacements for them, the financially troubled firm has given firefighters rented minibuses to travel around in.
Croydon FBU secretary Andrew Roberts said, “At the end of the day, you can’t fight a fire from a minibus.”
