Police arrested top Murdoch lieutenant Rebekah Brooks on Tuesday—along with her husband Charlie Brooks.
They were two of six arrested as part of the phone hacking investigation. All were held on suspicion of conspiracy to pervert the course of justice. Police also picked up News International’s head of security Mark Hanna.
Rebekah Brooks is a former executive at the firm, as well as former editor of the Sun and the News of the World.
Both of the arrested “power couple” are close pals of prime minister David Cameron. Charlie was at Eton with posh boy Dave.
And—as was recently revealed—Rebekah was so close to Cameron that they used to go horse riding together. She was arrested on lesser charges last year.
