Photos from an angry Birmingham Pride yesterday (Saturday) by Geoff Dexter
More than 50,000 people braved the rain to take part in Birmingham Pride this weekend.
There was a high level of anger against Tory attacks on LGBT people. These include government cuts to public services, education and health, which will disproportionately hit LGBT people.
Trade unions and student groups were out in force, with people chanting, “Pride is protest!” and “Pride not profit!”
The Tories are trying to turn back the clock on LGBT rights. But as Pride shows, people are ready to resist them.
