Amid all the Leveson fuss, Tory education secretary Michael Gove admitted that he thinks it’s OK for schools to be run for profit last week.
While love-bombing Rupert Murdoch at the inquiry, Gove said that he had an “open mind” on whether schools should be allowed to make profits.
“It’s my belief that we could move to that situation,” he added.
Liberal Youth, the student wing of the Liberal Democrats, lost half its 6,000 members last year. It seems £9,000 fees are less popular than they thought.
And the main party is doing little better. It lost one in five of its members last year. Even those who are left are often found not to be “willing to campaign for the party”.
