London protest against massacre of strikers in South Africa

Some 70 people gathered in central London to protest at the massacre of at least 34 striking miners in South Africa (Pics: Socialist Worker)

They gathered outside the headquarters of Lonmin (formerly Lonrho), the British firm that owns the platinum mine where the strikers worked

They then marched to the South African High Commission in Trafalgar Square to protest that police had carried out the killings
