Over 70 people attended the North West Unite Against Fascism (UAF) regional conference in Liverpool last Sunday, supported by many of the region’s trade unions.
The conference pushed forward the Griffin Must Go campaign to kick the Nazi British National Party leader Nick Griffin out of his MEP seat at the 2014 European elections. Griffin will only need around 8 percent of the vote to hold onto his seat.
The conference encouraged people to hold days of action on Holocaust Memorial Day in January.
Around 30 trade unionists and activists from across Yorkshire met in Leeds last Saturday to discuss mobilising against the EDL and stopping the re-election of Nazi euro MP Andrew Brons in the 2014 elections.
A dozen BNP thugs attempted to enter and disrupt the conference but they were prevented from doing so by those present.
