Zimbabwe’s high court has dismissed an attempt to increase the sentences for six socialists convicted for watching a video of the Arab Spring.
Originally they were threatened with the death penalty, but after an international campaign they were given suspended sentences and fines. The six appealed in March last year.
The state’s counter appeal, demanding more severe sentences, has been rejected.
