Agency workers at stations of the Bakerloo and District lines of the London Underground have voted unanimously to strike over threats to jobs and conditions.
They are members of the RMT union employed by Trainpeople. Some 33 of the workers lost their jobs after Trainpeople’s contract with London Underground ended in December. The RMT says those sacked will join the picket lines.
Some of the workers have been on “temporary” contracts for five years on as little as £6.75 per hour.
They are demanding direct and permanent jobs from Transport for London.
Workers protested at City Hall last week.
